Low back pain (LBP) is one of the most common complaints that brings patients into a chiropractic office.  It is estimated that 80% of adults will have LBP at some time in their lives.  It also appears there is a trend in adolescents who have LBP that continue to suffer as an adult.

There are many different structures in your low back that could be causing you pain.  One of these is the intervertebral disc.  It is believed that the disc may be one of the primary causes of  low back pain.  A technique known as Flexion-Distraction is utilized here at Bond Chiropractic and is effective for treating disc related pain.

Pain can also be caused by the facet joints, also known as zygapophyseal joints.  These joints are responsible for a large portion of the movement in the low back.  When a vertebra is out of alignment, it will alter the biomechanics of these joints.  This can cause inflammation, pain, and eventually lead to degeneration.  A chiropractic adjustment is the best way to keep your spine in alignment and the joints moving correctly!
